# Podcasts

I listen to a _lot_ of Podcasts. It's a great way to fill time that would
otherwise be "dead" - commuting, walking, working out, doing household tasks,
etc. I've been enjoying podcasts since I got my first iPod (a refurbished 2nd
Generation [iPod Nano](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPod_Nano#2nd_generation))
in 2007. I listened to more podcasts on that iPod than music.

As far as my podcast player of choice, I prefer Marco Arment's excellent
[Overcast](https://overcast.fm) (it's really good, you should use it).

Here's a list of what's currently queued up in my podcast feed:

## Tips and Tricks

- _[rewind.website](https://rewind.website/) (a.k.a. "Cast Rewinder")_ allows
you to "Subscribe to a podcast from the beginning". Basically, you put in
the podcast's RSS feed and it creates a new feed that updates at your
desired frequency (i.e. weekly) and releases old episodes sequentially as if
they were new. This is super useful for going back and listening through a
long-running podcast from the beginning, at a regular pace. It's also
    [open source](https://github.com/joachimesque/Cast-Rewinder)!
- _[Podsync](https://github.com/mxpv/podsync)_ is a self-hosted project that
allows you to make a podcast feed from a YouTube or Vimeo channel. Can
easily be self-hosted on a Raspberry Pi.
